What has been your success with lambing ewes after they have skipped a year and not bred? This could be for any reason–sterile ram (or no ram), re-absorption, miscarriage. What about skipping two or more years?

We sold a Karakul ewe as a lamb nine years ago, she was returned after being barrien for eight years, she had never lambed. Last spring she had twins, previous owner said she must have just wanted to be back home. She’s a great mother with lots of milk. Don’t give up on a Karakul.
We’ve had ewes take a year off, then lamb twice the next year. We like lambing 2 times a year, in fact Fall is our favorite time to lamb.
Here in SA and Nam, we lamb 3 times in 2 years (sometimes even every 7 months) That results in once per year and twice every other year..
